GROUND CONTROL: MANHATTAN

Ground Control is a weekly dance party that goes down every Sunday night at Bembe in Williamsburg. Originally spawned as Body Music by Jesse Mann 9 years ago featuring an array of eclectic live bands booked to go with his amazing Funk, Disco & House selections. When Jesse moved on from Bembe & Body Music after rockin weekly for 7 years, homie & musician Colin Brown stepped in to carry on the Body Music torch rebranding the party as Ground Control. Maintaining the core elements of eclectic live music and DJ curation in tact, Colin continued booking acts who on a weekly basis play anything ranging from Jazz, Funk & Lovers Rock to Afro, Caribbean and/or Latin combined with choice cuts of Tropical, Funk & Disco selections curated weekly by current resident DJ Mickey Perez. The party's gone so well in Brooklyn, Colin & Mickey decided to take the logical next step and start up a Ground Control in Manhattan with Nublu being the perfect place to be our city home.
