C//TY CLUB is happy to announce their two year anniversary party, happening on October 14th, 2016 at the newly opened NuBlu space on Avenue C in Manhattan. C//TY CLUB resident DJ's Gavin
Russom, Lauren Flax, and Zachery Allan Starkey will spin and are excited to welcome new resident DJ Katie Rex. Gavin will play live as Black Meteoric Star, kicking off an imminent European tour and a new BMS album, The Xecond Xoming of Black Meteoric Star, due for release on Nation. Zachery Allan Starkey will also play a rare live solo set.
2016 has been a busy year for the C//TY CLUB crew.
Gavin Russom resurrected his Black Meteoric Star project and has been touring the world with the
revived LCD Soundsystem.
Lauren Flax released her acclaimed In the Night single and has been playing all over the U.S. and
Europe.
Zachery Allan Starkey took his ZGRT project on tour with New Order and released several new solo singles.
The desire to keep CC vibrant despite these commitments inspired the collective to seek out a new
member. Katie Rex, who is well known to clubgoers all over New York City and Philadelphia for
her Cyberia party and her work with Factory Girls, Chromat, and Afterwave Records, was an obvious choice.
C//TY CLUB began in 2013 as a monthly party at Bushwick's Bossa Nova Civic Club. A year later, the party took on new forms at experimental venue Trans-Pecos. In addition to presenting specially tailored music from its residents, the night has also brought out highly expressive sets from guests
including Esteban Adame, L’Amour Bleu, Wetware, Houseboy, Shannon Funchess (Light Asylum), Volvox and Nomadico. C//TY CLUB now begins its third year at NuBlu, where it will be a quarterly event. In addition to the aforementioned live performances and DJ sets, C//TY CLUB welcomes new hosts and dancers, bringing together many tribes of New York nightlife for a night of dark dancing and uninhibited creative expression.
